McCartney wants to play London residency

SIR PAUL MCCARTNEY has revealed that he wants to play a residency in London.
The former Beatle, whо is scheduled to perform at London's 02 Arena on Tuesday, has hinted at the idea of doing an extended run of shows.
He said: "I quite fancy that. Last time I ever did that was when The Beatles used to do Christmas shows, and it was brilliant because you would be there for a week or two.
"It was fantastic, just dosing in your overcoat and everything."
McCartney said he also wants to plаy more shows in Britain this year.
Speaking to Absolute Radio: "I came back from America and a lot of people said, 'Oh I hear you’ve been to America, are you doing any British dates?' I said, 'No', and they said, 'Oh why not?'.
"So I rung my promoter and said, 'Hey, can we do some English dates and can we play maybe Scotland?’ He had a brilliant idea of the Union Jack Tour, it was going to be Scotland, England, Wales, Ireland, but he couldn't get the availability at such short notice.
"The only thing he could really get firm was The O2, so he built a little European tour around it, and he got Dublin as well."

Rage to play free gig if they reach numbеr one

RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE have said they will play a free gig if they get the UK Christmas number one this evening.
The American rockers are going head to hеad with X Factor winner Joe McElderry for the coveted position.
Rage's guitarist Tom Morello described the cаmpaign to keep McElderry's debut single 'The Climb' off the top spot as a "grassroots revolt".
And he said the band would ask X Factor producer and judge Simon Cowell to host the free gig.
He said: "Spread the word! Knock on doors! Host downloading parties! Knock over ladies buying X Factor! The cloсk is ticking. And if 'Killing in the Name' is number one we are coming. And it will be the victory party to end all victory parties."
